Soccer, Ducks, Cousins, Stories

Soccer season is now over. Caleb had a blast. He had great coaches and friends on his team. I meant to bring my camera to the last game and I couldn't find it. I got some video with my phone but it is terrible quality. I'm a little bummed.

Duck right after the game we went to Provo for some rubber duck races at BYU. It was fun to decorate the ducks and watch them go down the stream.

We've been going on a lot of runs/bike rides (I push the girls in stroller, Caleb bikes) then we stop at a park to play. Here's some pics I took while at the park one day:

Here's Talia and Evan around 2 1/2 months old:

Just as sweet as ever and getting bigger:

Stories:
  • Caleb got some new underwear. The first day he wore them his friend came to the door to play. Caleb dropped his pants and said, "Hey Boden look at my new underwear!"
  • Brynn blurted out one day in the car, "Daddies don't do laundry. Mommies do laundry." When I asked her why, Caleb answered, "Because they go to work." I guess that's mostly true.
  • Talia woke up around 5:20 one morning and Caleb and Brynn woke up an hour later, when Talia was going back to sleep. I told them to watch something on the iPad while I slept. When I came down later Brynn said, "Look." She had taken out two shelves of stuff from our fridge and lined it up on the counter. Later that day she tore apart flip flops with her teeth, unrolled duct tape, unrolled whiteout (not fixable, I've tried), went into Talia's room and woke her up from a nap, poured lotion all over Caleb's head and threw the hose nozzle under the trampoline. That girl is just in a stage where she causes trouble the second I turn my back. I'm sure she's saying to herself, "Want to fold laundry Mom? I'll go do something I know I shouldn't, just because it's fun."

Quick Review

Talia when she was 2 months old:
The kids smiling for a picture for their dad:
We went to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens one afternoon:
 Tummy time:
Sitting on the back porch swing. She loves that pacifier:
Talia being calm watching Caleb play the Kinect:
For Derrick's birthday I forgot to post this. I had the kids draw pictures for Derrick. Derrick rode his bike to work that day so Caleb drew a picture of Derrick on his bike. I was nursing Talia while Caleb made this. He asked me how to spell from, to, and Daddy. He did the entire picture on his own.

BBQ ribs on the grill on Sunday evening. It was a little windy but the food tasted great. Derrick is great at cooking on the grill:
I just love this face too much:
On Memorial Day we met up with Paul and Lynne at the grave site of Paul's grandparents. Lynne brought a book of stories about them and read a few. Then we went up to the canyon and did a little hike (couldn't go very far because of the snow). Julie and Pearl came for that part too. Then Kent met up with all of us at a campsite to have hot dogs, salad, fruit and smores. Caleb brought his bike and rode that around. The kids loved climbing up the mountain and hanging out with family.

Ok, this is fun. Brynn on the left at 5 months. Talia on the right, 2 1/2 months. They have a few similarities. It will be interesting to see if Talia gets those same little rolls Brynn did.
Story:
  • Brynn has cute prayers. Usually they are practical. They are always honest. One of the honest prayers went something like this, "We are thankful Mommy lets us watch TV and is a good Mommy to let us watch something."

Preschool Graduation

Caleb's preschool graduation was so fun. The kids are so cute singing their songs and showing us what they learned. I can't believe Caleb's headed off to kindergarten next year!
Here is Caleb saying his part:

Here's Caleb with his teacher Miss Nicole. She has been so great and Brynn can't wait to go to her next year.
Derrick worked from home the day of graduation so he could come support Caleb.

So much to catch up on...

I wish I had more time to blog...it's been a while and I'm sad because I know I'm missing things the kids say that are cute. Oh well. Let's start off with bath time. Talia loves it:
Derrick alone can handle 3 kids :)

At church Caleb was asked to draw a picture of his family. The cutest part of this is he drew Talia in my arms:

Sisters:
Oh, and Talia actually loves this position:
Cousins:

We love this little girl so much. She is getting used to her little body. She stays happier longer and she loves to look at faces. Caleb is so helpful with her. He will put her pacifier back in her mouth when it falls out--this is especially helpful in the car. He still talks to her when I'm doing something. Today he came up to me and told me while he was watching her she spit up so he wiped it up. I love having that little helper around.

I didn't take any pictures of Derrick 32nd birthday but you can see some of the leftover cake, ice cream and raspberry sauce in this video. It was the best cake ever! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Derrick and I went to Tucanos for dinner and got him some nice shoes for work afterward and Macy's. Sunday dinner at our house we had the cake with Derrick's family.

Birthday Time

First off, Caleb and Brynn had their 3rd and 5th birthdays. Their Great Aunt Mary sent them these cute shirts above.
Sunday night we celebrated at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Grandma made them crowns. I made a chocolate cake.

Here's Brynn the morning of her birthday. Her favorite present was Frozen (the movie).
Friday morning we had Caleb open some presents. Brynn tried to open one at one point and when we stopped her she was really confused as to why. She had been opening presents and cards all week. That was hard to explain.
Friday for lunch we had a birthday party with some friends/neighbors. My Mom, Dad, and Jenna showed up just as it started. We had pizza, fruit, and cake for lunch. Then we played some games: suck up M&Ms with a straw, silly string tag, and red light green light. The kids all had fun.

Brynn loved her Anna and Christoff dolls from Gram and Pop
